Nurse Practitioner Organizations

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
Formed in 1985, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) is the largest and only full-service member driven national professional organization for nurse practitioners (NPs) of all specialties. With over 16,000 individual members and 90 group members, AANP provides representation for about 80,000 NPs.

American College of Nurse Practitioners
The mission of the College is to unite and represent, politically and professionally, nurse practitioners across the United States and its territories. These efforts are to ensure an appropriate, prevention-based health care system to better meet the health care needs of individuals, families and communities.

National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners
NAPNAP was founded in 1973 as a non-profit specialty nursing organization devoted to improving the quality of infant and child health care. Today, NAPNAP represents practitioners working with populations across the pediatric spectrum, including infants, children, adolescents and young adults.

National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioners
NCGNP was founded in 1981 by a small group of GNPs with the intention of offering the first continuing education conferences designed specifically to meet the needs of GNPs. Currently, NCGNP represents nearly 3,500 certified GNPs in the country and a multitude of family and adult NPs in geriatric practice. NCGNP has become the organization of choice for NPs who want to pursue continuing education in geriatric care and who seek peer support from experienced clinicians.

National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties
NONPF provides leadership in promoting quality nurse practitioner education at the national and international levels. Through the support of the development of instructional skills and scientific investigation in nurse practitioner education, NONPF serves the public interest by assuring the preparation of highly qualified health care professionals.

Uniformed Nurse Practitioner Association
UNPA is a private, not-for-profit association of nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, and others who are serving in, working for, or have an interest in the US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, and the US Public Health Service. We are a corporate member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
